Gilbert T. Gray (born June 1, 1902 in Ruston , † July 27, 1981 in New Orleans ) was an American sailor .
successes
Gilbert Gray took part in the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles with Andrew Libano in the Star boat class . With their boat Jupiter they won five of the seven races and finished the regatta with 46 total points in first place, making them Olympic champions ahead of the British and Swedish boats . At world championships , Gray secured the title with Prentice Edrington as early as 1928 and won the silver medal with this in the following year.
During the Second World War he worked as a draftsman in the naval industry, where he designed military equipment.
