Hilary Hurlburt Smart (born July 29, 1925 in New York City , † January 8, 2000 in Weston ) was an American sailor .
successes
Hilary Smart took part in the 1948 Olympic Games in London with his father Paul in the boat class Star part. With their boat Hilarious they won two of the six races and finished the regatta in first place with 5828 total points, making them Olympic champions ahead of the Cuban and Dutch boats . At world championships , Smart secured the silver medal with Stan Ogilvy in 1947 and won the bronze medal with his father the following year.
He graduated from Harvard University .
