Georg Friedrich Christian Greiner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Georg Friedrich Christian Greiner (born October 30, 1775 in Worms , † January 15, 1858 in Eisenberg ) was a German doctor .

Greiner practiced in Eisenberg, where he had been the ducal Saxon-Altenburg court medic, official and city physician from 1825 and medical advisor from 1838. He was distinguished by a philosophical education, but had a natural-philosophical direction. He was of the opinion that the doctor should never take away the hope of recovery from a terminally ill person.

Among other things, Greiner wrote a number of articles on various topics of medical practice in Pierer's general medical annals (1803-22) as well as numerous articles in Pierer's anatomical-physiological real dictionary . He was also an employee of the Brockhaus Konversationslexikon , especially in its 5th edition.
