Trotsky

In his memoirs, Leon Trotsky reproduces the moods of exiled RSDLP members on the eve of the Russian Revolution in 1905 , at the same time distinguishing himself from the Social Revolutionaries and marking a dividing line for the Russian Social Democrats: “The old state structure crashed in all joints. The student still played the part of the stokers in the struggle. Driven by impatience, they resorted to acts of terrorism . After Karpovich and Balmaschow were shot, the exiles stood up as if they had heard the trumpet sound of an alarm. Discussions arose about the tactics of terror ... Our cause is not the murder of the tsarist ministers, but the revolutionary overthrow of tsarism. At this point the separation of the Social Democrats from the Social Revolutionaries began. "
