Stephan Katt

Stephan Katt (born September 15, 1979 in Kiel ) is a German motorcycle track rider .

Career

Katt started his career in 1984. His successes include four team world championship titles with the German national team on the long track in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 as well as two grass track European championships in 2006 and 2009. His German championship title on the long track from 2010 he was able to successfully defend in Herxheim in 2011. In 2011 he achieved his best individual result so far in the long track individual world championship (Grand Prix) with a 3rd place.

Stephan Katt drives under the applicant license of his club MSC Brokstedt e. V. in the ADAC in the Speedway Bundesliga.

Private life

Stephan Katt works as an industrial mechanic for a company in his hometown Neuwittenbek and has a daughter.

2011 season

In addition to defending his German championship title from the previous year and the 4th team world championship title, he was able to secure a place in the 2012 Grand Prix series with his 3rd place in the individual competition.

2010 season

After a few victories at the start of the season, Stephan Katt was able to win the first run in Pfarrkirchen, Lower Bavaria, right at the beginning of the Langbahn GP series. A few weeks later at the 2nd Grand Prix in St. Macaire / France he had a bad crash and had to take a break of several weeks. He was fit again for the German Long Track Championship and won the title for the first time.

At the last Grand Prix in Marienbad, Czech Republic, he won his second victory in 2010.

Stephan Katt was nominated alongside Matthias Kröger, Martin Smolinski and Richard Speiser from the DMSB for the German national team at the team world championship in Morizes / France. The team won the title ahead of France and the Netherlands. It was the fourth title win for Germany in a row and the third for Stephan Katt.

Stephan Katt won 11 out of 26 races in the 2010 season. He was very successful nationally and internationally. With his 5th place at the Long Track World Championship, he was able to qualify directly for the Long Track Grand Prix Series 2011.

In the 2010 athlete poll of the Kieler Nachrichten , he came in 6th place.
