Stephan Kornmesser is a German philosopher .

Life

Stephan Kornmesser studied philosophy and German at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg from 1999 to 2006 and philosophy, German, as well as logic and philosophy of science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 2002 to 2004 . After completing his studies with a master's thesis on the structuralist solution to the problem of theoretical concepts at the University of Oldenburg, a teaching degree in philosophy and German at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover followed from 2008 to 2009 , which he completed with the first state examination for the Finished teaching at grammar schools. He completed his doctoral studies from 2006 to 2011 at the University of Hanover with the dissertation From the logical analysis of language to the rational reconstruction of theories . From 2013 to 2018 he studied physics at the University of Oldenburg.

From 2014 to 2015 Kornmesser was a postdoctoral fellow at the chair for theoretical philosophy at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf with Gerhard Schurz . Since 2007 he has been a research assistant in the Linguistics Department at the German Department of the University of Hanover and since 2010 at the Chair for Theoretical Philosophy at the Institute for Philosophy at the University of Oldenburg with Mark Siebel .

Research priorities

Stephan Kornmesser's main research areas include the philosophy of language as well as the philosophy of science and the history of science , in particular logical empiricism and epistemological structuralism as well as the coexistence of rival paradigms .
