Stephan Müller (Germanist)

Stephan Müller (born January 15, 1967 in Rosenheim ) is a German specialist in German . He is a university professor for German language and literature of the Middle Ages at the University of Vienna .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1988, Stephan Müller studied German, Romance studies and history at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , which he completed in 1994 with a Magister Artium .

Stephan Müller's main research areas are Old High German language and literature, heroic sagas and heroic poetry, theory and history of tradition, theory and history of writing and historical narrative research

  • 2002 habilitation at the TU Dresden.
  • 2002 Senior Assistant at the LMU Munich.
  • 2002/03 representation of a professorship at the University of Konstanz.
  • 2003/04 representation of a professorship at the TU Dresden.
  • 2005–2010 W3 professorship for German language and literature of the Middle Ages at the University of Paderborn .

Since August 2010, Müller has been Professor of Older German Language and Literature at the Department of German Studies at the University of Vienna .

In 2013, Stephan Müller turned down an offer for a W3 professorship at the University of Hamburg.

In 2014/2015 Stephan Müller holds the Wolfgang Stammler guest professorship at the University of Friborg (Switzerland) .
