Stephan Schäfer

Stephan Schäfer (* 1977 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a German theater and film actor.

Life

Stephan Schäfer gained his first theater experience in the youth theater group of the Brandenburg Theater . Schäfer was trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 1998 to 2002. During his studies, he gained acting experience at the Maxim Gorki Theater in the production of Saved ( Edward Bond ) and at the Berliner Ensemble while working on the role of Roelle in Purgatory in Ingolstadt ( Marieluise Fleißer ) directed by Manfred Karge .

He received his first engagement in 2002 at the Landestheater Tübingen (LTT) in Tübingen . There Shepherd played, among others, the title role in Woyzeck , the Angelo in Measure for Measure and the title role in Faust .

After three years he moved to the theater of the city of Heidelberg under the direction of Peter Spuhler . Here Schäfer played, among others, Karl Moor in The Robbers , the Narrator in Effi Briest , Pozzo in Waiting for Godot and Simon in The Caucasian Chalk Circle .

With his engagement since the 2007/2008 season at the Berliner Ensemble, he began to act again in Berlin . He worked here with the directors Claus Peymann , Peter Stein , Manfred Karge, Hermann Beil and Thomas Langhoff .

Since 2009 he has been working as an acting lecturer at state drama schools, including the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin , the Berlin University of the Arts and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theater in Leipzig .
