Stephan Winter

Stephan Winter (born June 28, 1970 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

He studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the PTH Sankt Georgen , University of Philosophy Munich , Ludwig Maximilians University Munich and University of Münster . He was at Klaus Müller specialist Philosophical Foundations of Theology in 2001 in Münster doctorate . In 2009 he received his habilitation in liturgy , was awarded the Venia legendi and was appointed private lecturer at the Catholic-theological faculty of the University of Erfurt . He is professor for liturgical science at the PTH Münster . He has been liturgist since 2001, later also head of the parish pastoral department in the Diocese of Osnabrück until 2013 , and since then also advisor Johannes Wübbes . Since the summer semester 2020 he has held the chair for liturgical science at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen. He is married and has three children.

His main research interests are the further development of a systematically oriented theology of the liturgy (especially from the perspective of liturgy-theological aesthetics) - currently focusing on reformulating the parameters of a general theology of the sacraments, Christian ritual action within the pluralistic context of the developed modernity, liturgy and ethics, basic questions about theology and shape ecumenical church services and the history of liturgy and piety of the Diocese of Osnabrück.
