Johannes Wübbe (born February 23, 1966 in Lengerich, Emsland ) is auxiliary bishop in Osnabrück .

Life

Johannes Wübbe graduated from high school Leoninum in Handrup (Emsland) in 1985 and studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . On May 20, 1993, he received the sacrament of ordination by the Osnabrück bishop Ludwig Averkamp . Wübbe then worked as a chaplain in the parish of St. Johann in Osnabrück , later as a city youth pastor. From 1997 to 2000 he was vicar in the parish of St. Vitus in Meppen . Johannes Wübbe was diocesan youth pastor from 2000 to 2010 and from 2002 also President for the Federation of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ) in the Diocese of Osnabrück. Since 2010 Johannes Wübbe has been pastor of the parish community Spelle , Schapen , Lünne and Venhaus with around 9000 Catholics.

On 18 June 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Ros Cré and auxiliary bishop in Osnabrück. The Bishop of Osnabrück, Franz-Josef Bode , donated him the episcopal ordination on September 1st, 2013 in the Cathedral of St. Peter in Osnabrück ; Co-consecrators were the retired Auxiliary Bishop Theodor Kettmann from Osnabrück and Norbert Werbs , Auxiliary Bishop in Hamburg. His episcopal motto In spe credere (“To believe in full hope”) comes from the Apostle Paul's letter to the Romans ( Rom 4:18  EU ).

In the German Bishops' Conference , Johannes Wübbe is a member of the Youth Commission and the Liturgy Commission .
