Stephanie Knauer (* 1971 in Augsburg ) is a German pianist , journalist and teacher .

Life

After graduating from high school in Maria Stern Augsburg in 1991, she studied at the Augsburg / Nuremberg University of Music and graduated with distinction in 2001, and in 2003 she obtained the master class diploma. The artist has successfully participated in several international competitions and grants, including the Richard Wagner grant in 1999. She attended masterclasses for fortepiano and harpsichord .

From 2003 to 2008 she taught accompaniment and "practice-oriented piano playing " at the Augsburg / Nuremberg University of Music. She resumed this teaching assignment from the 2009/2010 winter semester in the Leopold Mozart Center , which is newly affiliated to the University of Augsburg, with the subjects of “artistic compulsory subject piano” and “practice-oriented piano playing”.

In her artistic development she turned to song accompaniment. She is now a member of various ensembles in the jazz sector, but also performs with classical music, so Stephanie Knauer is one of the few pianists who are allowed to play on the fortepiano of Johann Andreas Stein in the Leopold Mozart House in Augsburg . She also takes part in opera and music theater productions, led a choir and appears as a soloist on cruises. In 2015 she and other artists presented the concert series “Klassik im Kloster” at the Green Week Berlin .

In addition to the music of bygone eras, Stephanie Knauer also deals with contemporary works. Daniele Gasparini and Karl F. Gerber have dedicated compositions to her.

In addition to her artistic career, she works as a freelance copywriter and journalist for agencies, newspapers and magazines.
