Stephanie McCaffrey (born February 18, 1993 in Winchester , Massachusetts ) is a former American soccer player .
Career
society
During her studies at Boston College , McCaffrey played for the Boston College Eagles from 2011 to 2014 . At the same time, she played from 2013 for the WPSL participant Boston Breakers College Academy , one of two farm teams in the NWSL franchise of the Boston Breakers, and scored 23 goals in two seasons.
At the beginning of 2015 McCaffrey was committed to fifth place in the first round of the NWSL's college draft by the Chicago Red Stars , but was immediately transferred to the Boston Breakers in exchange for two later draft picks. She made her league debut on April 11, 2015 in the away game against Portland Thorns FC . In this game, a 1: 4 defeat, she also scored her first goal in the NWSL.
in July 2016 McCaffery moved to league rivals Chicago Red Stars . After the 2018 season, in which she only came to two short appearances, she ended her professional career due to ongoing health problems.
National team
McCaffrey was called to a training camp for the US U-23 team for the first time in May 2014 and finally made her debut during the six-nation tournament in La Manga in February 2015. In January 2015 she was also a successor to Jill Ellis Training camp of the US national team has been invited.
