Stephanie Nilles (* 1985 in Chicago (?)) Is an American folk , jazz and blues singer and pianist. First she received a solid classical education on the piano; at 17 she was a finalist in the "Young Concert Artists' International Competition". At the age of 22, she graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a “Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano Performance”.

After a loss of motivation, she went to New York at the age of 20 and tried to gain a foothold in the local jazz and folk scene. She always wrote poetry; now she wrote her own songs. Stephanie Nilles worked with artists such as Bobby McFerrin , Joel Newton and Christian Howes .

Raised in Chicago, she has lived in New Orleans since early 2010 ; next to this city Tom Waits and Ani DiFranco are her sources of inspiration.

In August 2008 Stephanie Nilles released her first album, "ReDemo", on her own label "Sudden Infant Death Hut Records".

In 2013 she recorded the album “… takes a Big Ship” with Zach Brock & the Magic Number” .
