Zach Brock
Zach Brock (born August 2, 1974 in Lexington , Kentucky ) is an American jazz violinist , composer and band leader.
Zach Brock began performing publicly at the age of six and began playing jazz while in high school. In Chicago he studied music; he dealt intensively with the work of Zbigniew Seifert . In the early 2000s he founded the quartet The Coffee Achievers , which debuted at New York's Carnegie Hall in 2005 at the invitation of Dave Douglas . Since then he has toured internationally and put on a number of albums on the Secret Fort label . His album The Magic Number was realized with micro-funding . He also worked with Stanley Clarke , Grażyna Auguścik and Frank Vignola .
Between 2005 and 2010 he was listed as a rising star among the jazz violinists in the Down Beat readers' poll .
