Frank Vignola

Frank Vignola (born December 30, 1965 in Long Island ) is an American jazz guitarist and banjo player of mainstream jazz .

Live and act

Frank Vignola began playing the guitar at the age of five and later studied at the Cultural Arts Center of Long Island. Since the 1980s he has been involved in numerous record productions as a sideman, mainly on the Concord label ; u. a. with Charlie Byrd , Joey DeFrancesco , Peter Ecklund , Lars Erstrand , the Gully Low Jazz Band , Susannah McCorkle , Ken Peplowski , Dick Sudhalter . Since 1993 he has also recorded a number of albums under his own name for Concord Records . Among his solo releases, the album Off Broadway stands out, which he recorded for the Nagel-Heyer label in 1999 with Roland Hanna , Frank Wess and Randy Sandke . He has also played with tuba player Sam Pilafian in the duo Travellin 'Light since 1991 . After Richard Cook and Brian Morton, his guitar style is reminiscent of fusion musicians like Al Di Meola with a slight rock influence .
