Lars Erstrand

Lars Erstrand (* 27. September 1936 in Uppsala , † 11. March 2009 ) was a Swedish jazz - vibraphonist and bandleader of the Swing .

Career

Erstrand played the piano , tuba and trombone early in his career and switched to the vibraphone after listening to Lionel Hampton . With this he later recorded the album Two Generations for the Phontastic label. In the 1960s he worked with Ove Lind ; In 1972 he played with Benny Goodman . He worked as a sideman on many recordings and has released a number of albums under his own name on the Opus and Sittel label since the 1980s . Erstrand took part in recordings by Arne Domnérus , Joe Newman , the Peanuts Hucko All Stars , the Norbotten Big Band , Georg Riedel , Jesper Thilo and Bob Wilber .
