Stephen Rollnick

Stephen Rollnick (* 15. September 1952 ) is a British psychologist , who is professor at the Cardiff University teaches and together with William R. Miller , the method of motivational interviewing (Motivational Interviewing) developed.

Life

Rollnick grew up in Cape Town ( South Africa ), studied psychology at the University of Glasgow and trained in clinical psychology in Cardiff . He then worked for the National Health Service , especially with addicts. Based on his experience in addiction care, he developed the motivational interviewing method in close collaboration with William R. Miller , which was originally designed solely for the therapeutic treatment of addicts.
