Stephen Small
Stephen Small (* 1969 in Wellington ) is a New Zealand pianist .
Small studied piano with Tamás Vesmás at the University of Auckland in 1987/88 , then at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Nelly Ben-Or . He also appeared in concerts (inter alia with the.. London Philharmonic Orchestra on, worked as a studio musician for various) jazz - and rock bands and performed with the Swing - Rockabilly band Marlene Lee and the Blue dots on.
In New Zealand he recorded the album The Other Wing with Sonbol Taefi , later he performed with the artist in England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and recorded three other albums. Since 1998 he has been living in New Zealand again. He teaches jazz and popular music at the University of Auckland.
