The Stepping Stones (English for stepping stones ) are a group of three distinctive cliff rocks in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located 800 m north of Limitrophe Island off the southwest coast of Anvers Island .
The rocks were used by scientists at Palmer Station , who made the descriptive naming in 1972, as intermediate stations and thus figuratively as stepping stones on the way from Gamage Point along the south coast of Anvers Island to Biscoe Bay .
