Sterling Grant (born June 1, 1987 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American ski racer . Your strongest discipline is the slalom . From 2005 to 2010 she was a member of the US Ski Association.

Career

Grant started skiing very early, her mother was a ski instructor at the Trollhaugen Ski Area in Dresser , Wisconsin . She drove her first FIS races in November 2002, and in January 2003 she took part in races in the Nor-Am Cup for the first time. In the 2005/06 season she was able to establish herself at the top of the slalom in the Nor-Am Cup and secured a win in the slalom ranking with one win and two second places. In the following season she reached third place in the slalom classification with another victory. In 2006 and 2007 she took part in the Junior World Championships and finished sixth as the best result in the Slalom of Québec 2006. After she had to fight in the Nor-Am Cup in the 2007/08 season with many failures, she drove in the season In 2008/09 he made it onto the podium five times, celebrated one victory and thus won the slalom classification for the second time.

Grant had her first start in the World Cup on December 11, 2005 in the Aspen slalom . There she dropped out in the first round and it was her only appearance in the World Cup that winter. In the next two seasons, she only started one race each time and was never able to qualify for the second round. On November 30, 2008, she achieved her first World Cup result in the slalom in Aspen with 29th place, but did not receive any World Cup points because the time lag behind the winner was too great. In the next year and a half she was used in the World Cup several times, but was unable to qualify for a second round in her ten other starts until January 2010.

Grant has not been a member of the US ski team since 2010. Since then she has not competed in the World Cup or the Nor-Am Cup. She began studying at the University of Denver and has been competing in university races for the university's ski team since January 2011. In February 2011 she won the gold medal in slalom at the Universiade in Erzurum .
