View of the star from the west

The star is a prominent crossroads northeast of Möckern in Saxony-Anhalt .

A total of seven paths meet here. Clockwise from the north, the paths lead in the direction of Lüttgenziatz , Hohenziatz , Waldweg, Waldweg, Lochow , Möckern and Pabsdorf . The path that meets the Stern from the west from Möckern has been developed as district road 1231 and continues north towards Lüttgenziatz. In the center of the intersection is a wooden sign with the inscription Star . On the east side of the star there is a distance stone that is designated as a small monument .

To the south of the distance stone there is a notice board called Der Stern von Möckern, on which the intersection is shown and four neighboring sights are shown. Signposted sights include a fire watch tower , the giant stones and the Gebberskreuz south of the star . To the north is the old fountain . At the star there is also a seat and the housing of an electrical system.

The name Stern results from the star-shaped alignment of the trails and is at least already noted on a map from 1919. At that time, the star was formed by eight paths. A short forest path, which no longer exists today, led from the northwest to the Stern. While the star is of secondary importance in terms of traffic today, the paths were more important in the past. The Poststrasse leading from Magdeburg via Hohenziatz to Berlin ran over the Stern. In addition, the byway crossed the old Loburger Strasse.
