history

A first documentary mention of Lüttgenziatz can be found in the year 992. In this document the place is listed with the name Ziazinawici . According to this name, it was a Slavic settlement at that time.

In the years 1796 and 1800 there is the entry of a mill on the Ihle in Lüttgenziatz on the maps of Daniel Friedrich Sotzmann .

In 1848, according to a statistical representation of the administrative district of Magdeburg of the Prussian province of Saxony, there was a manor suitable for the state assembly with ten houses and 98 inhabitants. The estate also included a mill, a distillery and a brown coal store.

On September 30, 1928, the Lüttgenziatz manor district was merged with the rural community of Hohenziatz. Thus, until the incorporation on January 1, 2004, the village was part of the municipality of Hohenziatz, today also part of the city of Möckern.
