Kähnert is a district of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The village is three kilometers east of Grabow in an open agricultural landscape . But the Kähnert Forest begins just a few hundred meters to the south , and, like the town itself, is located in the 25,063 hectare and very wooded landscape protection area (LSG) Möckern-Magdeburgerforth. The LSG is part of the Burg-Ziesarer Vorflaming and belongs to the Fläming .

history

In 1782 the place had a total of 51 inhabitants, so it was said three years later in a report about the same. At that time Kähnert was a noble and to Grabow eingepfarrtes manor . It belonged to a Herr von Witzleben and, in addition to a sheep farm, had ten campfire sites, 780 acres of fields, 23 acres of meadows, eleven acres of garden land and two small ponds. In addition, 1,650 acres of poultry and birch wood , 630 acres of seed bush and eleven acres of night pasture were part of the estate. It was also reported that the herding was carried out in the Grabowschen and Reckendorfschen Heide .

On September 30, 1928, the Kähnert manor district was merged with the Stresow manor district and transformed into a rural municipality of Stresow. In 1931, Kähnert and the Kähnert forest estate were named as part of the municipality of Stresow. Until it was incorporated on January 1, 2010, the village was part of the Grabow community, and today it is also part of the town of Möckern.
