Lühe is a settlement of Möckern in the district of Jerichower Land in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The settlement is just over a kilometer north-northwest of the center of the city of Möckern, on the western edge of the 25,063 hectare and very wooded landscape protection area (LSG) Möckern-Magdeburgerforth . The federal highway 246a runs through the village .

In terms of natural space , the place belongs to the Zerbster Land , an arable, open cultural landscape and 536 km² main unit of the superordinate main unit group of the Fläming in the north German lowlands . The Zerbster Land forms the southwestern roof of the Fläming to the Elbe and belongs to the catchment area of ​​this river.

history

On the morning of April 5, 1813, the troops of the French Empire that had remained in the village of Lühe until then were pushed out of the town without a fight by the 3rd Battalion of the 3rd East Prussian Infantry Regiment. At that time, that battalion was deployed as a reserve of troops from the battle near Möckern in their rear area and left the village towards Zeddenick again around midnight .

On December 1, 1910, the community Lühe had a total of 412 inhabitants and belonged to the district of Jerichow I of the administrative district of Magdeburg in the Prussian province of Saxony .

The previously independent community was incorporated into the town of Möckern on July 1, 1950.

Culture and sights

The late Romanesque field stone church of St. Ulrich is centrally located in the village.
