Lochow is a settlement of Möckern in the district of Jerichower Land in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The small settlement is just under three kilometers east of Möckern in the Möckern-Magdeburgerforth conservation area . The extensive ponds to the south of the residential development belong to the Ehle and Blauspringe catchment area . The entire district is part of the western Fläming plateau , a wooded landscape rich in heather and grassland and belongs to the catchment area of ​​the Elbe .

Fish pond

Pond management is particularly important . Fish ponds have been managed in Lochow since the Middle Ages. In the 1980s the ponds were reconstructed and expanded. Currently (as of 2011) they are operated by the Klaus Lübbe fishing company.

There was a military facility north of the location. This facility was converted into the State Hospital for Forensic Psychiatry Uchtspringe Branch Office Lochow . On the resulting forensic sklinik was opened in May 2006 and consists of 80 seats.
