Räckendorf is a district of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The village is four kilometers south of Theeßen in the very wooded landscape protection area (LSG) Möckern-Magdeburgerforth . The 25,063 hectare LSG is part of the Burg-Ziesarer Vorfläming natural area , which forms the western end of the Fläming . The area around it reaches heights of around 70 meters and is only a little more open to the southwest. The Ihle , a tributary of the Elbe, flows only a few hundred meters west of the village . The small Silberbach rises only a few hundred meters to the east in the forest, passes the town to the south and flows a good kilometer west into this same Ihle.

history

As early as the 17th century, Reckendorf had belonged to the nobles of Plotho . In 1750 a Christoph Friedrich v. Plotho the first and a Johann Joachim Friedrich v. Plotho the second part. In 1860 it was reported beyond the previous that the place consists of old and new Reckendorf . This distinction in the name is based on the presence of the two noble knight seats on site. The goods included the Küsel Vorwerk , wood , a sheep farm and some subjects with leaseholds in Steglitz .

In 1782 the place had a total of 51 inhabitants, including the nearby Spühlkrug . This inn must have been located a good kilometer west of the village at the crossing over the Ihle, because a bridge is still named accordingly today. In the ten years before 1782 a total of 20 births and 19 deaths were recorded. All of this was reported in 1785 and also that the place was in the Ziesar district of the Duchy of Magdeburg and that both manors were parish off to Grabow .

The manor Alt-Reckendorf belongs to a Herr von Borg , who also owns half of Küsel. The Neu-Reckendorf manor including the local sheep farm was the property of a Herr von Arnim zu Nieplitz . In total, the estates included eight fireplaces, 1,674 acres of arable land and 160 acres of meadow, as well as eight acres of garden land and 480 acres of poultry and birch wood , which were almost completely cut down. The place also had the right to guard in the Kähnertschen Holze , a forest area to the northwest .

On September 30, 1928, the manor district Räckendorf was united with the rural community Theeßen. As a result, the village was part of the municipality of Theeßen until it was incorporated on January 19, 2008, and is now also part of the city of Möckern.
