Daniel Richard Cahn (born April 9, 1923 in Los Angeles , California ; † November 21, 2012 there ) was an American film editor .

Life

Then Cahn is a son of the film editor Philip Cahn (1894-1984). His uncle Edward L. Cahn was active as a film director. Cahn himself began his career as an assistant editor in the early 1940s. From 1949 he worked as an independent editor. He has mainly worked for various television films and series. He was also involved in numerous productions as an editor. As a director, he staged several episodes of various television series from 1958 to 1977.

In 2000, he was from the American Cinema Editors with the ACE Career Achievement Award honored. In 1991 he won the Eddie Award for his work on the pilot of the DEA series . He also received an Emmy nomination for this .

In 1953 he married Judy Baker. Her son Daniel T. Cahn , born in 1957, also works as a film editor. Their daughter died in 1973.
