Daniel T. Cahn

Daniel T. Cahn (born December 11, 1957 ) is an American film editor .

Life

Daniel T. Cahn is the son of the film editor Dann Cahn (1923–2012). His grandfather Philip Cahn was also an editor. Cahn himself began his career as an apprentice in the field of sound and music effects, before working as an assistant editor from 1977. As such, he was involved in the television series The Man from Atlantis and Project UFO and worked with editor Michael Kahn in the late 1970s . Working on the television series Cheers in 1982 marked Cahn's first independent job as a film editor. To date, he has mostly been involved in television films and series and more than 60 productions.

Cahn is the current president of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, which his grandfather helped found.
