Hollywood Heights is an American daily soap that was first broadcast in 2012 on the US broadcaster Nick at Nite (episodes 1-40) and later TeenNick (episodes 41-80). It is based on the Mexican telenovela Alcanzar Una Estrella . In Germany, the series was shown on MTV from February 4 to May 24, 2013 in English with German subtitles.

A dream has come true for Loren Tate. She wins a talent show sponsored by her idol, rock star Eddie Duran. She is happy to have her mother by her side as there are some problems. Because especially Eddie's girlfriend, the scheming and manipulative Chloe Carter, is after Loren. But Eddie also has his problems with his father Max. In January 2012 the broadcaster Nick at nite announced that they would be producing a new primetime soap based on the Mexican telenovela Alcanzar Una Estrella , which ran in the US under the title "Reach for a Star . Production began in the former studios of All My Children in March 2012. The first season, which is a co-production by Televisa and Sony Pictures Television, was broadcast between June 18 and October 5, 2012. In Germany, the series will start on February 4 2013 on the Pay TV transmitter MTV broadcast.
The first episode was shown on June 11, 2012 as an exclusive preview on the Nick at nite homepage . Filming for the 2nd season will begin in October 2013.
