Star pharmacy (Gelnhausen)
The building of the former star pharmacy in Gelnhausen , the district town of the Main-Kinzig district in southeast Hesse , was originally built in the 14th century. The half-timbered house at Alte Schmidtgasse 1 is a protected cultural monument .
The representative building in the corner, which characterizes the street space, is a two-story, elongated residential building, which was built on a massive basement from around 1350. The ground floor is solid in the middle section and to the west the two window axes are half-timbered. The later eastern extension also took place in half-timbered construction. The first floor in a simple half-timbered structure is slightly cantilevered, the second floor with broad male figures was built around 1700. The crippled hipped roof has slings .
At the back is a slightly pointed arched courtyard gate with diamond-cut blocks in Renaissance shapes .
