from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a control line in which is electrical connection between a transmitter and receiver designated z. B. is realized via a cable , wire or optical fiber . This connection is used to switch the receiver to a different operating mode or status and / or to start or stop a certain process , mainly via a logic state (0 or 1). Communication normally only takes place unidirectionally , namely from the transmitter to the receiver.

Control lines are mainly found in integrated circuits (ICs). Known digital inputs of an IC, which are connected to a control line, are z. B. Chipselect , Reset or Enable.
