Data line

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a data line in which is information and communication technology , a physical transmission medium , such as a cable ( data cable ), wire or optical fiber , a connection between a transmitter and receiver or the compound referred to as such. Only information (data) that is further processed is transmitted via this connection . Bidirectional communication is usually possible via a data line, i.e. the transmitter becomes the receiver and vice versa. In microcontrollers , very often only unidirectional data lines are used. As an example here z. B. called the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), which has a unidirectional data line for the send and receive directions.

The term data line is also used for integrated circuits (ICs).
