Steve Chainel (born September 6, 1983 in Remiremont ) is a French cyclist .

Chainel became French junior cross-country champion in 2000 . In 2003 he took part in the U23 Cross-European Championship and won the bronze medal. As a result, he won several international cross races in the elite category.

On the road , Chainel won the overall standings and a stage of the Circuit de Lorraine in 2008 and a stage of the Driedaagse van De Panne-Koksijde in 2010 . He contested the Giro d'Italia 2009 and the Vuelta a España 2013 , but did not finish these Grand Tours .
