Stage orchestra rehearsal
A stage orchestra rehearsal (often short BO ) is a scenic rehearsal in music theater ( opera , operetta , musical ) with the participation of the orchestra . It is one of the stage rehearsals that, in addition to piano rehearsals, prepare the final rehearsals, which play through the work with orchestra and the original equipment and lighting in the process. Stage orchestra rehearsals mainly serve the musical and scenic coordination between the stage and the orchestra pit and often take place with marked decorations and rehearsal costumes. In contrast to piano rehearsals, the conductor has priority , but the director can also use the rehearsals for further scenic work.
Before the premiere of a production there are usually between two and eight stage orchestra rehearsals, followed by an orchestral dress rehearsal and a dress rehearsal . Even after longer breaks in playing and when resuming the performance , stage orchestra rehearsals are occasionally scheduled if necessary.
