Stephen Joseph "Steve" Morrow (born July 2, 1970 in Belfast ) is a former Northern Irish football player and coach.

Club career

Arsenal London signed the then 18-year-old defender Morrow from Welsh club Bangor City in 1988 . In total, he played 62 times for the Londoners until 1997 and scored one goal.

During his time at Arsenal, he was loaned out to Reading FC (1991), Watford FC (1991) and Barnet FC (1992). In 1997 he moved to the Queens Park Rangers . After 91 games and a short loan to Peterborough United , Morrow moved to the American Major League Soccer to the Dallas Burn (today: FC Dallas).

Due to a neck injury, he had to end his football career in 2003.

National team

Steve Morrow played 39 times for the Northern Irish national team from 1990 to 1999 . He played his first international match in 1990 against Uruguay .

Coaching career

In 2004 he became assistant coach at FC Dallas, but had to give up this post after 3 months in May 2004 for personal reasons. In January 2005 he was again assistant coach and since December 2006 he was the club's head coach.

He was released on May 20, 2008.

Back to Arsenal

After his release from Dallas FC, Morrow returned to Arsenal FC in September 2008, where he was responsible for coordinating the club's international partnerships.

He is also a live commentator for the club's web portals.
