Steve Preeg

Steven M. Preeg (born December 14, 1970 in Sacramento , California ) is an American special effects artist who received the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2009 for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button .

Life

Preeg graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara , with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering . He worked for Shockwave Entertainment on the first feature film, The Lawnmower Man 2 - Beyond Cyberspace , for which he worked in the field of visual effects . Films like Beowulf , Final Fantasy: The Powers Within You and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King followed .

In 2004 he worked for the visual effects company Digital Domain for the first time . For the company, he worked on such films as I, Robot , Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button , for which he, together with 2009 Eric Barba , Burt Dalton and Craig Barron to Oscar in the category visual Best Effects received.

He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
