Steve Tikal
Zdeněk "Steve" Tikal (born July 18, 1933 in Včelná , Czechoslovakia , † November 20, 1991 in Melbourne ) was an Australian ice hockey player . He was the twin brother of the more famous Czech ice hockey player František Tikal .
Career
Steve Tikal took part for the Australian national team at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley . With his team he finished ninth and thus last place. In the course of the tournament he was only used in the game against Czechoslovakia , from which he had fled a few years earlier. In this game, in which he sustained a serious shoulder injury that ended the tournament prematurely for him, he faced his brother František Tikal , who was one of the stars of the Czechoslovak team. At the club level, he played for the Hakoah Ice Hockey Club in Melbourne .
