Steven Mehrdad Beitashour (born February 1, 1987 in San José , California ) is an Iranian -US football player.

His father is an out of the Iran -derived Assyrians and his mother was a native of Iran Persian .

Beitashour started playing soccer at Leland High School . In 2010 he was drawn as the 30th player in the MLS SuperDraft by the San José Earthquakes . On April 10, 2010, he made his professional debut in the game against Chicago Fire . He scored his first goal on April 24, 2010 against CD Chivas USA .

He has been playing for Los Angeles FC since 2018 .

In August 2012 he was nominated by Jürgen Klinsmann for the game against Mexico for the USA national team, but not used. On October 15, 2013, he made his first game for Iran against Thailand . He was on the Iranian squad at the 2014 World Cup.
