Steven Cortright

Steven Cortright (born March 18, 1942 in Long Beach , † January 25, 1991 in Santa Barbara , California ) was an American painter and photographer.

life and work

Steven M. Cortright took part as a hurdler at the 1960 World Championships in the USA and the USSR and studied at Stanford University , where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude .

Cortright was appointed professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara , was married with three children.

He was twice a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts . He exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Europe and Japan and took part in documenta 6 in Kassel in 1977 .
