Steven Lattimore

Steven Lattimore (born May 25, 1938 ) is an American classical philologist .

Life

Richmond Lattimore's son received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College . From there he earned a Masters of Arts and a PhD in Philosophy, both from Princeton University . During this time he worked as an instructor at Dartmouth and Haverford College and as an assistant professor at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome . He began his career at UCLA in 1967 as an assistant professor and became a professor in 1998, a title he held until his retirement in 2006.

His research interests are Greek literature, history, and material culture.
