Miguel Noguer Castellví (born December 28, 1956 in Barcelona ) is a former Spanish sailor .
successes
Miguel Noguer took part in the Flying Dutchman boat class three times in the Olympic Games . He achieved his greatest success at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow : together with Alejandro Abascal , he won three of the total of seven races and, thanks to three further placements among the top four, was already established as Olympic champion with 19 total points before the final seventh race . They received the gold medal ahead of David Wilkins and James Wilkinson from Ireland and the Hungarian brothers Szabólcs and Zsolt Detre . In 1984 in Los Angeles , Noguer and Abascal formed a sailing team, but did not get past eleventh place in this regatta. Four years later he finished the Olympic regatta in Seoul together with Luis Doreste in 13th place. At world championships , Noguer and Abascal won bronze medals in Hayling Island in 1978 and the silver medal the following year in Kiel .
