Steven S. Vogt (born December 20, 1949 in Rock Island , Illinois ) is an American astronomer and astrophysicist .

Steven Vogt received an AB in Physics and Astronomy from the University of California, Berkeley in 1972 . In 1976 he received an MS in astronomy from the University of Texas at Austin and in 1978 also a Ph.D.

Steven Vogt conducts research at the University of California, Berkeley , u. a. in the field of extrasolar planets and has discovered nine extrasolar planets together with others.
