Previous model Steyr 30

The Steyr 430 is a 1933 imagined cars of the upper middle class of Steyr-Werke AG (from 1934: Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG ).
The car was based on the Steyr 30 model designed by Ferdinand Porsche . In contrast to the Steyr 120, 125 and 220 types , the sedans and convertibles were kept in the classic style with vertical windows and a trunk.

The car had a 6-cylinder in-line engine installed at the front, which drove the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. Front wheels were attached to rigid axles and had longitudinal leaf springs. The rear swing axle had a transverse leaf spring. The six-cylinder engines were powerful and the cars were therefore particularly suitable for use in the mountains. 1,250 copies were made by 1935.

In 1935 the car was revised. He got a bigger and more powerful engine. The new model was called the Steyr 530 and was offered for 1 year. It was built 456 times. A copy of this model is in the Aspang Automobile Museum in Aspang-Markt in Lower Austria .

In 1937 there was another minor revision (higher compression, stronger alternator, transverse leaf springs also on the front axle). In addition, a Pullman limousine - especially for taxi operations - was offered. Exactly 500 of this last model, the Steyr 630 , were built by 1939.

In addition to the factory cabriolets , luxurious convertibles were available for all three models , which were manufactured by the famous bodywork company Gläserkarosserien GmbH in Dresden.
