The Steyr VI or Steyr 60 is a sports car that the Oesterreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft (from 1926: Steyr-Werke ) brought out in 1922. By 1928 there were several versions, all of which were based on a combination of the lightweight 4-cylinder Type IV chassis with the 6-cylinder Type II engine and its further developments.
Although small series were produced, almost every car was equipped with special features. There was a Steyr VI Sport, type Klausen , which later became the Steyr Klausen Sport with an engine output of up to 155 hp. There were also various vehicles with the designation Steyr VI Sport , which had engines up to 4.4 liters and 100 hp.
From 1923 these vehicles achieved respectable placements in races, such as the Targa Florio , on the Klausen Pass , in Mugello , on the Avus , on the Semmering , etc. and made the Steyr brand famous.
