The house Stieg 1 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located east of the town's market square, on the north side of Stieg Street, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . It is registered as a merchant's house in the Quedlinburg monument register.

Architecture and history

The three-storey baroque half-timbered house was built in 1664 by the Quedlinburg master carpenter Andreas Bock . The inscription M.ANDREAS BOCK ZIMMERMAN refers to him . A striking feature is a bay window in the eastern half of the facade on the first floor . Above the third floor there is a dwelling . The half-timbered facade is decorated with diamond crosses and profiled filler wood . In the late 19th century, however, the house was only slightly redesigned. A shop was added to the ground floor.
