The house Stieg 8, 9 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It's located east of the city's market square and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . It is registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register. The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Stieg 7 to the west.

Architecture and history

The three - story half - timbered house, Stieg 8, was built in 1668. A mezzanine is integrated in the high ground floor . The half-timbered facade is with pyramid beam heads, profiled consoles, filler wood and flat ship throats . An inscription refers to ANDREAS SCHRÖDER as the builder of the house. At the house there is the rest of an arched portal, which was covered by a shop installation that was carried out at a later time. The property also includes the two-storey house number 9 to the east, the facade of which has been largely changed.
