Tabernacle (Kassel)

The tabernacle was a literary circle in Kassel .

Franz von Dingelstedt became a teacher at the Lyceum in Kassel in 1836 . He founded a group of young people from Vormärz under the motto “ Eintracht Holds Macht” in Kassel. The opening ode announced the beginning of a new literary epoch: the time when over Hessens Gauen // The Dawn of Poetry flew .

The members of the "tabernacle" included a. Friedrich Wilhelm Müller , Friedrich Oetker , Heinrich Josef König and Julius Rodenberg . Under Franz von Dingelstedt's leadership, they published the Hessian Album for Literature and Art in 1838 .

After Dingelstedt was transferred to Fulda in 1838, the "Stiftshütte" in Kassel dissolved.
