Career

society

After starting to play soccer with the Kolping Boys in his hometown of Alkmaar, Stijn Spierings was trained in the soccer school of the local first division club AZ Alkmaar and made his debut in the Eredivisie on February 13, 2015 at the age of 18 when he defeated 2: 4 in the home game against PSV Eindhoven in the 88th minute for Robert Mühren . After he was only used in the second team - if at all - Spierings was awarded to the second division club Sparta Rotterdam on February 1, 2016 . Here, too, he mainly gained match practice in the second team and was often substituted on in the first team, only on the last day of the game in the 2: 3 defeat against neighboring FC Dordrecht he was in the starting line-up and scored a goal. Sparta Rotterdam was promoted to the Eredivisie at the end of the season and Stijn Spierings was regularly used in the following season. With seven scorer points in 22 missions, the offensive midfielder, who has now been bought, contributed to keeping the Rotterdam league. In the following season things did not go well for Spierings and missions for the second team were not uncommon. Things didn't go well for Sparta Rotterdam either and they had to go to the second-to-last in the final table in the promotion and relegation play-offs, in which they were subject to FC Emmen in the final and thus had to return to the second Dutch league. Despite relegation, he stayed in the port city, but after six months Stijn Spierings decided to change clubs.

On January 7, 2019, he joined league competitor RKC Waalwijk . There, Spierings won a regular place and contributed six assists and seven goals scored in 18 games to qualify for the up-and-descent play-offs at where the Waalwijker against him NEC Nijmegen , Excelsior Rotterdam and Go Ahead Eagles prevailed and thus rose to the Eredivisie. In the final second leg at Go Ahead Eagles, RKC Waalwijk won after a 0-0 first leg after a dramatic game 5-4, with Spierings scoring the 2-0 and in the fifth minute of stoppage time the important goal to make it 4-4. He was also a regular in the Eredivisie.

Nevertheless, Stijn Spierings decided to move in the winter transfer period and he joined Levski Sofia in Bulgaria .

National team

In 2012, Stijn Spierings played three games for the U17 national team in his country of birth . He also made at least one appearance for the U18 juniors in the Netherlands . In 2014 Spierings played three games for the U19 team . After his appearances for the U19, he completed five appearances for the Dutch U20 national team in 2015.
