Still patient? is a German gothic rock group from Worms and Ludwigshafen am Rhein .

history

Still patient? was founded in 1988 by Andy Koa (vocals) and Th. Kraniny (guitar). The common preference for Gothic Rock bands like The Sisters of Mercy , Fields of the Nephilim and The Mission formed the basis for the first musical steps. For a short time Matthias Wolf (bass) was a member of the band. Later guitarist Christian Ogrinz (guitar) joined the band, and the first songs were written, which can also be heard on the first release Salamand . A drum computer ("Dr. Rhythm") provided the rhythms.

In 1990 Christian Ogrinz left the band to concentrate on his own projects and M * Beck joined the band as the new guitarist. Hedge Kaluza took over the keyboards and the first concerts (including with Deine Lakaien ) in this line-up were held. After further live experience, the first demo recordings were presented to Hyperium. In 1992 the first album Salamand was released on the Nuremberg label Hyperium. In 1994, the second album Cataclysm , also through Hyperium, was released. Then the band decided to end their further collaboration with the label.

1996 Still Patient? at Alice in ... and released the limited Chameleon EP . The third album, which was planned shortly afterwards, never got beyond a demo status. The material was then released on the album Nightmare Arrival , which largely consists of home recordings, sampler contributions and exclusive material. The song Shadow of the Empire for the computer game Battle Isle III - Shadow of the Emperor by Blue Byte and the specially produced video can also be found on it.

In the following years Still was a patient? represented at festivals in Europe. Including the Wave Gotik Treffen (1996 and 1999), the Sacrosanct Festival in London (1996 and 1997). A tour through Germany with Soul in Isolation and The Tors of Dartmoor was successfully completed and further festivals in Italy (Genoa and Rome) followed.

In 1998, Still Patient? working on her last studio album so far, Demondive . The band was expanded to include bassist AX (Minus Men).

In June 1999 the album Demondive was released on Schwarzrock. The band played at the Wave Gotik Treffen 1999 in Leipzig and gave their last concert at the end of 1999 at a festival a. a. with crematory .

Shortly thereafter, the band broke up due to different musical ideas. Andy Koa founded the band Anodyne-29 , Hedge Kaluza founded the Datasushi project and M * Beck joined Boiling Blood . Hedge Kaluza and M * Beck were guest musicians on the surround pop movie Polyradah by the German electro band No Comment , which was released on DVD and audio album in 2008 on ( Echozone / Sony BMG). Together they enriched pieces like the wavy Enyradah , Floor 122 or the club hit Silver Skulls with the atmosphere of old Still Patient? Songs.

In 2012 M * Beck, Hedge Kaluza and Andy Koa decided to work on a reunion. Are you still patient? with three new musicians, each of whom played in the gothic rock band Giant's Causeway , on new material. The first concerts are planned for 2013, including at the 22nd Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.

In spring 2013 Hedge Kaluza (keyboards) and Jörsch (drums) left the band before the first concert in Leipzig was completed.

In autumn 2013, four new songs and one song from the first CD Salamand were re-recorded and mixed by Kristian Kohlmannslehner in the coal cellar studios . The EP Selective Perception will be released in January 2014.

The album Retrospective-88.2.99 , which will be released in February 2014, contains selected songs from the first four releases from 1992 to 1997, which are no longer available, including recordings of the demo tape from 1991. All songs have been digitally remastered.

In 2015 the new album Shape Shifters was completed in the coal cellar studios of Kristian Kohlmannslehner . In addition to ten new songs, the album contains a new recording of the song Mascara Osiris from 2012, which was previously only available on a compilation. The publication is scheduled for autumn 2015.
