Stina Werenfels

Stina Werenfels (* 1964 in Basel ) is a Swiss filmmaker .

life and work

Stina Werenfels was born in Basel and spent her early childhood in the USA, Spain and Greece. In 1983 she graduated from high school in Zurich. She studied pharmacy at the ETH Zurich , where she obtained an assistant diploma in 1987. From 1988 to 1990 she studied philosophy and film studies at the University of Zurich , worked as a freelance journalist and made her first short films. At the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University , she completed a film degree from 1991 to 94 and took master classes.

Werenfels is married to the film director and producer Samir and lives in Zurich.
